Keyboard controls
These mappings are for the project linked by Skate Browser. The keyboard emulates an Xbox-layout controller; individual button actions can depend on your current menu or game state.
| Keyboard | Controller input / use |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Left stick: steering, pushing and crouching |
| ↑ ↓ ← → | Right stick: FlickIt trick input |
| Space | A button: push |
| E / Q / R | B / X / Y buttons |
| Z / X | Left / right bumper |
| Shift / C | Left / right trigger; grab inputs in the controls menu |
| V / B | Left / right stick click |
| I / K / J / L | D-pad up / down / left / right |
| Esc | Start: pause menu |
| Tab | Back button |
| Enter | Continue at the start screen and select in launch menus |
Use a controller
The project supports standard gamepad input. Connect the controller, open the game and press a button so the browser can detect it. Its reference uses an Xbox-style layout: left stick for movement, right stick for FlickIt, A for pushing and Start for the menu.
If the controller does not respond, first bring the game window into focus and press a button again. Confirm that the device is connected to the computer, then check the project’s LEARN → Controls or PLAYER → Controls menu. A controller’s printed labels may differ from the layout shown by the game.
Trackpad Mode
Open the pause menu, go to PLAYER and find Trackpad Mode. When this mode is active, clicking in the game locks the pointer for mouse or trackpad input. A down motion followed by a quick up motion is the project’s ollie gesture.
Read PLAYER → Controls after changing modes, because the active input mode affects how you perform tricks. Use Esc to leave pointer lock or return to the menu.
When a key does nothing
- Click the game window first. Keys sent to this guide page will not reach the game.
- Close the pause menu before using gameplay inputs.
- Finish typing in chat before testing controls; chat captures keyboard input.
- Check whether a connected controller or Trackpad Mode is active.
- Look up the action in the game’s own Controls menu if it differs from this reference.
Keep the basic tricks guide open for right-stick motion practice. For a page that never reaches the game, use the loading troubleshooting guide.
